Wait wait wait, you're telling me you made an awkward male protagonist that DOESN'T have trouble talking to girls and the girls actually appreciate his company and treat him like a fellow human being rather than constantly being annoyed or disgusted by his awkwardness?

I thought it'd never happen with modern writers! Five stars just for that.
And also the rest is good.

[Catching Up (Pilot)]

Wait you're telling me that in 2025 someone came along with a pilot for a cartoon that isn't:
-Full of awkward pauses
-Piggybacking off of memes and references in place of actual jokes
-A thinly veiled soapbox full of strawmen to push the writer's political opinions
-Using "They say one thing and then the opposite happens" for every other joke
-Cussing every 4 seconds
-Containing a scene that talks directly to the audience and says some polarizing opinion as if to condemn a specific group of people

And that has:
-Actually decent animation
-Characters with consistent personalities and flaws
-A plot that doesn't 100% wrap itself up and leaves room for future development (see: the girl Clay talked to)
-Worldbuilding that did a good job of establishing itself

Man, it's been a really long time since I could just straight up lose myself in a cartoon and feel like I'm looking into another world full of kooky characters just living their lives, without some scene coming along where it's like "Ah, they're talking about <thing happening right now in real life> which will be irrelevant in like 4 years and serves to only fully take the viewer out of the cartoon and remind them of reality which is what they're trying to escape via the cartoon. Neat."

This is some good shit, man. This is some good shit.
